Hiya,

This depends on the type of claim and the alleged offense.

Some employment rights you can take via a no-win no-fee route, similar to those adverts on telly about accidents at work etc.

If you have a strong case, say in discrimination, associations like the Equal Oppostunities Commission or the Department for Racial Equality etc would be interested in sponsoring you to put your claim forward, as a test case.

If you are a member of the Trade Union, they may sponsor you.

Have a look at your contents insurance - yes on your home! - as you may be paying a premium for legal aid, and you are insured for this.

Other than that, it can cost quite a bit in solicitors fees, organisation and also the time it takes to prepare. For an organisation it can cost in the region of £4,000-5,000 for a win result! But I am not sure if it would be different for the claimant (you).

Try looking into sponsorship.

Good Luck!

I have just had my Tribunal on Monday, All you have to do is go to your job centre and ask for a form for to apply for a tribunal hearing. Fill it in and send it off, you should get a reply within two weeks Yes/No. The tribunal will give you a contact at Acas. Even if you lose you will not have to pay any cost unless you have a solicitor, I represented myslef. I f you are found that you have lied about the case the tribunal wil charge you.

they're truly putting you below unnecessary stress! in spite of the undeniable fact that, in order to make certain that you get the money that you're due - why do not you're taking someone supportive with you? Your ex-employers will watch how they behave in the route of you, as you may have a witness to each thing it truly is declared/finished. That way you received't favor to be demanding about assembly with any of their team.

You may be able to go to a firm that takes the fees out of the winnings - if they think you have a good case .
Why don't you check with Citizens Advice Bureau to see if they think you do?

If you are a union member speak to your rep, if not then ask ACAS for help, you may qualify for legal aide or find a lawyer that is willing to work for you for free or for a share of your winnings.

If you are a member of a union it would be easier and cheaper, otherwise it can be quite expensive, especially if you lose. Also think about your future employ-ability.
