That's a good question. I can provide, from what I've observed, the characteristics of a social person. I think it's somebody who, when among strangers, can say "hello, my name is" and proceed from there. A social person for the most part, tends to interact with people he/she meets in public way more than an anti-social person. A social person also, I imagine, gets an adrenaline rush from engaging in conversation with people, and also lends an open ear.

To be honest, a social person is strong willed and can accept the diffrence of opinion. I did a small study on this before. A friend of mine named Robin is very anti-social. She has some VERY extreme views. And is afraid of someone disagreeing with her thoughts. To avoid confusion, she stays to herself. She has but 1 friend, that being her own cousin. I myself am her friend, but i think it is a one way relationship. I am very social, i do not mind if people disagree with my thoughts. Because i understand it will not change them. A social person usually understands others at least a little. But their are some social people who are just outright blatent, those people have problems. They have no self control, but they are still social. I hope this helps. If you are looking to be more social. Have fun with it. Think of a statement, and guess what everyones response will be. It will make you more comfortable when you begin to understand others. If you get an answer you do not understand it does not hurt to ask "Why" they beleive in that answer.

i think everyone's social in their own way. i would describe a 'social' person as someone who enjoys a sense of community and interacting with others. even the lady above me who said she's not social, just her being on here is a sociable experience. after all, online is an environment in the same way that the pub is.

I would say a social person to be one who enjoys the company of others, whereas I, myself ,am an unsociable person and I don't care for others company but I do like this sort of thing but I'm not actually conversing with anyone......have you lost me? Now you understand why I'm not very sociable!
