I have just moved my pc from one table to another, in doing so i have unconnected the computer. But now i have reset the computer and put the cables back in the right place i have a problem. When i go to switch the computer on the lights appear at the font of the base, but the screens dont register. And there is a beeping noise coming from the computer base. I have tryed to reconnect the computer again but the base still beeps and nothing else happens. Does anybody have any ideas about what i could have done? or how i can get the computer to work properly????

Most likely one of the cards has been shifted in the PC (base). Is your monitor plugged into the back panel or a card?

The panel is a grouping of outlets (mouse, keyboard, USB, printer, video) all in one. The cards are in the slots below the panel, and are about 1/2" thick and 4" wide.

If anything (especially the monitor) plugs into cards, then open the case and remove the cards gently and reset them firmly in place. You will probably need a phillips head screwdriver to do this. Make sure the you reset the cards in the same slots you pulled them from.

Also, check to make sure that your memory sticks are properly seated. These are green/black chips about 6 inches long. They normally have a white/beige clip on either end to hold them in place. Gently push those clips outward and the memory stick will come out. Then line it up in those clips and gently but firmly replace them. You will know they are properly set when the clips click into place.

Once you check all that, reboot and you should be all set!

Computers have beep codes to determine what is wrong. Turn on the computer and determine, is it 3 short beeps, 3 long beeps, just one beep, etc.... Go online and look up beep codes and try to find the problem. As you don't know what BIOS you have, you will have to do a little trial and error but you should find the right beep code of what is going on.
Hope this helps

You have probably dislodged the video card. The POST portion of the start up process looks for a video card. It's not finding one and beeps a certain sequence to try to tell you.

I would open the case and push in all the cards and memory and then start it again. (Remember to touch the case to stop static shock before you touch the cards)

If you have an internet connection, you can find the meaning of the beeps for your mother board at the manufacturer's site and get the real answer there.

No need to worry a your RAM is loose just fit it properly and switch on the system it should work out if yet you have the problem remove the battery located on the motherboard switch on the pc let the pc be on for 20 seconds and the again replace the battery and switch ont the supply.
Don't play with the motherboard and the supply on.

Make sure you have connected the cables correctly/plugged in.

If it still doesn't work, then take it to a technician.

are there power lights on in the monitors? There is a power button on those that will have to be pushed.
