I am a married worker. We lived paycheck to paycheck for 20 years while raising our 3 kids. I didn't get any benefits given to me by society. I went to school using GI Bill and got a BS. But not having the social skills....drinking, socializing, back stabbing etc, nor the energy as I was an honest family man, I had to keep my physical job, busting my hump to make ends meet for my family. My wife was not able to work. Lots of sob stories out there. If you can find a job making more money or if you are or have the luxury of being a social climber, I would recommend that for you if you want more money. Just don't sell yourself short to some whosamaginny. Good luck.

You know when it's time to change your job when you are not making the kind of money you are worth earning. You get tired of the people you work with and the environment itself. You might want to consider a career in health care since you can at least make the kind of money that will help take care of you and your children. At least some health care careers you're not living paycheck to paycheck you got some flexibility to fall on.

When I am on Yahoo answers during work time!
Living paycheck to paycheck sucks. I work and attend college full time myself and it is not picnic.
Find a new position before you leave though. And keep in mind that when you are done with college you will find a whole new set of opportunities.

Most of us live pay to pay, your no different. If you don't have enough money, look into working at a second job or make serious cutbacks in your personal spending habits.

Ask yourself and your manager what have you done to contribute to the success of the company. If there are significant contributions, do not be afraid to ask for a salary increase. If that is not an option, you know your next steps. No sense in staying somewhere that will not benefit your success.
