I know you probably meant chicken egg vs chicken, but every time I hear this question it reminds me of a quote from one of my favorite professors.

He said clearly eggs have been around alot longer than domesticated chickens. (I have a dinosaur egg fossil, probably at least 200million years old). Chickens no where near that long.

According to Aristotle the Chicken existed first as the egg is potentially a chicken it is not actually a chicken, so in the world of real vs. potential the Chicken came first.
