I'm definately not confused about all this as it's obvious whats going on here. However, I would like to address at least one particular incident.
A member named "Quilm" posted an obvious rape scenario, (which he tried to romanticise), and then asked for feed back as to whether it consituted rape. Quilm knows it was rape. Period. After telling him off, I reported him. Instead of deleting HIS contents, Yahoo erased mine and emailed me a violation notice. That, clearly, is sick.
Also, he sent me a personal email stressing his BSDM fetish and his penchant for hookers. This obviously constitutes harassment.
In one of his posts he suspects he is a sadist as he wanted to know why he got off making his girlfriend cry.
I've read several of his posts which clearly outline that he is a true cyber bully. Still, Yahoo ignores this and penalizes the people who want to prevent abuse. Not ONE of my reports have been addressed by Yahoo and abusers are permitted to roam free

...and punish the innocent. That is such a sick sick mind set. I've even asked them to email me back to explain. But nope. Are these 'trolls' or 'cyber bullies' perhaps employed by Yahoo in order to attract more traffic? Regardless of what the hidden agenda, there definately is one...or may be two. Anyone thinking person can see that.

I find it interesting that when Yahoo is called upon to back up their actions...they are nowhere to be found. Are they not concerned about an eventual and likely barrage of bad publicity?

Geoffery, yep, my post to your question was deleted as well. Also, I posted a question in direct porportion to Alexandras ignorant question...but low and behold, mine was deleted and hers remained. That's what I'm saying: abusers roam free. These trolls have somehow become 'untouchable'??...they obviously have friends who are staff at Yahoo and are colluding with them. Nobody in their right mind allows a rape fantasy post to remain and then delete the ones who are against it. C'mon!

Answerer with no identity:
Then why are valid reports ignored but with irrelevant ones immediate action is taken? I'm going to start quoting community guidlines for them as one of the posters suggested. I just didn't think I had to spell it out for them. Guess so!

Tehabwa:
None of my posts are vulgar. If someone is nasty or attacked without provocation I’m entitled to respond as I see fit, not how you see fit.
Additionally, you are wrong to assume that Yahoo deletes most sick posts. Many are alive and well in various sections of Yahoo. This person is not the only one on women’s study who abuses…there are many who repeatedly and deliberately antagonize. Nevertheless, thank you for your noble advice, and for providing an alternative avenue to report abuse.

Look everyone! Tanks the antagonizer is back! and what is that...he's defending the abuser. How typical. Now, as far as me losing points, I'm not concerned about "points." I'm concerened about unprovoked abusers like you running rough-shod over people and getting away with it. I hope you relflect on what you just said - you do realize don't you, what you just defended? Tank, you've been repeatedly harassing women on this board since I've joined. It is disgusting. I want nothing to do with you.

Don't engage with these people.
Don't answer; report.
You're wrong that Yahoo leaves all the sick posts up and goes after the innocent.
Mostly they don't.
But you weren't entirely innocent.
Just keep reporting the gunk.
Don't answer it.
If he really is harassing you (one email does not harassment make), then let Yahoo know via one of the links they have for this purpose.
But if you have just reported him and not answered, he wouldn't have emailed you.
Edit: Oh! About the "no recourse" stuff. Upper right of screen you'll see Forum.
Go there, then to Wrongful Deletions.
If you post your complaints there, YA staff will investigate and get back to you.
But they'll say pretty much what I've said. Report these people, but don't answer them. That just gets them after you, and adds to the sum total of sludge to the site.

This is a clear case of misunderstanding, over confidence and "Chaltaa Hai "attitude . One should understand the sentiments, emotions and perceptions of fellow human beings before embarking upon such publicity. It is better to start a new web site and develop mass support against such vulgarity.

yeah, it's nice, isn't it?
someone apparently reported me (i don't know if it was from this section or the R&S section) my entire account (that i'd had for about 10 yrs) was deleted without any notice. and i certainly wasn't saying anything that could even begin to be construed as offensive & vulgar as a LOT of what i've seen on here, of which i only report the worst--not that it matters because it seems only 1/10 of those comments/questions are deleted.
it makes me so mad!!

The deletions procedure is mysterious to me. If there is no review by Yahoo staff then it can be open season on any posts anyone doesn't like. If that's how it is then that's nuts.
And what happened to your post on my question for mature men? It just vanished as well?!

I understand why you are upset. There is a man called "GrumpyFiend", he makes racist questions, and there is another girl who asks ignoratn questions like "why do black chicks vagina always stink?" Like. thats not cool. Any type of abuse, racial slurs or comments, and anything that is not tactful should be removed. It sucks that you were sent a violation. It seems that yahoo need to re evaluate their guildlines.

I'm pretty sure the violation system is automated. There are alot of users on here who report anything they don't like as a violation, and there is no recourse. You can email back an objection, and all you get is an automated reply.

I clearly found that question to be offensive as well. A man's sick, rape fantasy diologue should not be allowed in a Women's Studies forum. I don't understand why trolls, and flamers are not being penalized for their contant harassment and attacks of others, especially women.

It's ridiculous. Someone said a few weeks ago that he thought he should be able to have sex with 14-year-old girls. I called him a pedophile. My comment was removed; his stayed.

Oh cry me a river, Rain. Are you raining tears of getting a violation? Oh MY GOD!! YOU LOST 10 POINTS!! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!
I checked the answers to Quilm's rape scenario question and it seems everyone was able to correctly answer the question. I don't even see how he guy deserves a violation. Is saying rape a forbidden word?
I think the violation you got was fair, since you probably did not answer the question or you probably insulted him. I don't even see why he should get a violation.
EDIT
You want nothing to do with me? Does that mean you are breaking up with me? I feel so down now... and I bought you a wedding ring... and a pair of NON-TWISTABLE PANTIES!!!
EDIT
Explain to me why everyone answered the question BUT YOU?
BTW when you said ''Tanks the antagonizer is back!'' you forgot to add ''Coming soon to a theatre near you!''
