Deffinitions:
Van: a vehicle designed for the purpose of carrying freight in any form upto a gross weight of 3.5 tons
Truck & Lorry: a vehicle with a gross weight over 3.5 tons designed to carry freight in any form according to design.
Car: a vehicle designed to carry upto 5 people after which variations have different catagories pepending on the number of people being carried upto 7.Then a car becomes a mini bus. A mini bus becomes a bus when the vehicle has the ability to carry more than 16 people.

A van is a box, a truck is a box with an outdoors bit on the back, a lorry is a big monster that sucks in your car on the motorway with a cab and a trailer, and sometimes, flapping things on the sides, and a car is a smaller thing that people drive with a cushion and a box of tissues on the back shelf and a dangly air freshener dolphin on the rearveiw mirror.
