I agree to an extent. People, not just housewives, get so caught up in their "internet" life they tend to put off or let go of things needed done or taken care of in their daily lives. Friendships/relationships suffer along with every part of their lives that go unattended or not as important. Internet frienships can be easier and more comfortable for some ppl and thus they end up avoiding life in general.

To relieve stress from being trapped in a box all day with no one but kids to talk to, and if they don't get addicted to the Internet, drugs would probably be the next choice!
But, I'm not a housewife, so I don't know!

hmmm...yeah, I don't think the dream turned out quite the way they wanted it, with the 2.5 kids, white picket fence and golden retriever.
The internet is the escape. They can be whomever they want instead of the constant caregiver that let themselves and their indentities get sucked away into obscurity and a sea of mini-vans.

Because they are bored with their miserable lives. Their husbands are off at work and having affairs and the wives are at home taking care of4 screaming children...the internet is their sense of peace which is why they always have cyber affairs...

im not a housewife but i can imagine having to stay at home with the kids and keeping house it would get pretty lonely. Im sure they would be open to other ideas you might have in which they could socialise in their own home or then maybe you could offer to babysit so they can get out and meet some lovely people like yourself
