I'm currently 17 weeks preggie and got 3 weeks till I find out what I am having. Everyone in my family is pretty sure that I am having a boy and I guess I am too, so I was wondering what people think of the name
Ja'mani Deshaun (for a boy)
also any other boy names that start with J that are unique or have a good meaning to them
In case it's a girl
Jael (but would need ideas for a middle name)

I really like bothe the boy and girl names you picked out. It seems like you really like them too. I would not try to always look for someone elses answer with a bunch of names becuase the one you pick is the best. Mommy knows best remember. Analese would be a good middle name of Jael. Jamani is cool maybe consider leaving the accent out. I'm not too crazy about Deshaun. That was VERY popular in the early 70's. If you like "D" names for the middle name what about Dawson or Drake? I really like Jamani Alexander.
Jael is cute for a girl. What about Jael Mackenzie or Kimber?

Wait til the last 3 months until you decide. Baby movements can give you hints. For example: Have a list of names you picked out, get in a comfortable position( sitting or laying down) then 1 by 1 say the names out loud & pause for like 30 seconds or so then so on. Wait & see if your baby moves when you say a certain name. Make a note, do it like every other day (with the names w/ note) soon your baby has helped you decide> GOOD LUCK!!!!

As a black woman myself, I love our ethnic names, but we have to think about our children's futures. I wouldnt give him a name that detects his ethnicity before people meet him. This can cause harm in the future. You may also want to look this up. There have been a lot of studies on racial discrimination due to a persons name. Congrats and good luck.
