American chocolate pales into insignificance in comparison to European.
For example, Eurochoc is sweeter, smoother, creamier, etc..
American, in my own experience, has a taste & consistency more like the chocolate used over here for cooking purposes.
To sum up, if you desire the finest chocolate, choose European. Your pallet will love you for it..
(Both Swiss & Belgian brands are excellent..)

European chocolate is definitely better than American Chocolate. Belgian chocolates, Swiss chocolates and Dutch Chocolates are hands-down the best chocolates in the world.

Well, I have never tasted American chocolate but I very highly doubt that it can possibly be better than Swiss or Belgian chocolate. I have been to both countries, tasted both chocolate at chocolatiers and normal shops. Not only are these two countries the most famous in the whole world for chocolate. But they most certainly live up to their reputation, and then some!!!
