Not that it's bad or anything, it's a pet name really. My nickname is dodge (duh!! lol) but my name is kevin. for many years now my friends have called me by my nickname and when i told them i didn't really want it anymore they still continue to call me it. like the way you'd call your parents mum or dad, it would just sound weird to them calling me by my proper name. only a handful of people call me by my normal name now.

Ignore them, and when they come to you asking why you did not answer them let them know that you have a name and you have asked them to call you by your name Kevin. If they still don't listen than ignore them and don't respond and hopefully they will get the picture.

If they are truly your friends, they will understand when you say that you would prefer not to be called by a particular name. Tell them that you have outgrown that now and you would prefer being called your given name. I know that some nickmanes are cute at the time, but situations change, jobs change, etc. and people change as well. True friends will respect that. And if they aren't your friends, then . . . . .

Well firstly, when they call you dodge, don't respond. They might get the hint and start calling you Kevin or Kev or something else.... It may seem weird at first but they'll get used to calling you that.

they're only attempting to be humorous.....only refer to them and tell them it angers you whilst they call you that and the two make up a clean nickname you like, or call you via your call. they might additionally call you that bc they see it gets an develop out of you and so as that eggs them directly to maintain doing it further and extra. only chortle and act such as you do no longer care and that would take various the buzz outta it and that they're going to end.

That is a tough one. I would say just keep correcting them. But to be honest once you have a nickname it's there for life. I know someone who is over 30 and they still call him Crow.
