I think that we have a pretty good idea of what we are going to do even before we put the question out there. we are either looking for acceptance or rejection. we may pause a minute, read it and process it but then do want we intended to do anyway.

Ask the person if he will follow the same if he is in your place. If the 'YES' from him comes in a second and spontaneously , his advise is genuine.
Always weigh the advise in your heard and follow your inner voice. If no voice is coming just follow the genuine advise as mentioned above.
