Hi, yes the decision to select pink was based on almost every bathroom in America was white in 1963. People usually had their counter tops filled with cosmetics and such and most were labled in bright bold colors which Mary Kay found offencive. She wanted the containers to be attractive so women would want to leave them on display ultimately after considering many colors decided on soft,delicate pink would look best with those white-tile bathrooms

I don't really know. I guess she just liked it!! I do know that when she first started the pink cadillac, she went to the dealership, pulled out her pink compact and said, "I want a cadillac in this color."

I thought that was funny!!
