I am an Asian and I was born in America. When I was one and a half years old, my dad died from leukemia. I am the only child. We shifted to Canada on my Grandma's advice. My mom became scdzopheraniac (I don't know how to spell it). She lost her job which was the main source of our income and I spent 2 years with nice foster parents. My uncle didn't prove to be such a support. My mom remarried but it was a catastrophie. She fought her case and our only choice was to come back to mom's homeland. I was 9 years old when I came to this backward and remote country. I am suffering since then and now i am 15 years old. I hate this country and want to go back to US or Canada. But my mom, She fights with my grandparents and she hates her sister; my aunt who loves me alot. Due to her illness, she is sort of depressed. I don't know what to do to help her and the family? She hears imaginary voices and believes them. Due to these voices, I am facing lot of problems. Help me please!

Well unfortunately it doesn't sound as if it would be easy for you to get into the united states being a minor. The only option there would be if you were emancipated and i am not familiar with the laws in Asia as to how this works. Sorry to hear you have faced so much hardship at such a young age. Things will get better. It sounds as if you have a good relationship with your aunt. Due to your mom's decreased mental state, would it be possible to live with her? Hopefully your mom is receiving professional help for her condition as well. Good luck and I'll say a prayer for ya!

You do have a very complicated set of problems. Probably many of which can only be solved by time and patience.
Who are you living with now? Are they supportive of you returning to America or Canada? Would your mother bring you back if she thought that you would have a stable situation with someone else?
There are many families in these countries that would love to have a fine young person in their homes who would be a part of their family while not expecting you to forget your family.
Contact your mother and see if she is willing to work with you and with others to help you get back and find a living arrangement. Tell her to contact her local Salvation Army family services to see if there is any good advice that they can give her before she gives any information to the government. They can be very knowledgeable and helpful.
Also, what is your mother's citizenship as well as your own? This would be very helpful in giving any further recommendations.

You sound as though you have far too much on your shoulders for a young lady. Please, speak to a teacher, a counselor, someone you trust. Tell this person all you have written. In fact, print it out, and take it to this person. You must, first, realize that you cannot 'cure' this family. Your job is to be the best person you can be, despite all the hate going on, here. Don't consider yourself trapped. You aren't. You will learn all the things you don't want to be, to do, as an adult, yourself. For now, you are too young to be on your own, and you must realize you did not cause any of this, you do not 'own' any of these problems. Do your best in school, so that you may get yourself an excellent job and be able to be on your own, when you do gradulate. I am sorry that your life has met so many strange personalities, already in your life, but, if it works for you as it did for me........you may end up being the best teacher, the best counselor.........because you know what it is LIKE to be in your position. Think of your future, and manage as well as you are able with the people in your life, at this time. BE stronger than all of them put together, and do not become negative. BE the person you want to be, and I hope that is a compationate, loving person. Use all of these 'bad times' to understand others. Get help, even if it is just to tell what is going on, how it affects you, and be able to just talk it out with someone who will listen and will understand your hardships.

Fortunately for you, you are an American citizen! Now the problem is getting emancipated from your mother, or having your guardianship transfered to someone in America. This will probably depend more on the country you are currently in. Where are you? I could try to find information on the laws of your mom's homeland. No guarantee, but I could try!

Hey, good luck!

If there is no one to help you (family, school supports, etc.) then you need to over come your past and help yourself, not as easy as it may sound.

Work very hard in school and get great grades. Get a job and save as much money as you can. If that is not possible, get involved with school activities. Find things (productive, healthy things) to keep you busy and out of the home.

Speak to your school about options for studying in America after you graduate.

Good luck.

obviously your mother needs help first, maybe if she gets the help she needs, she will be able to listen to you, if not then ask your aunt if you guys can figure out a way for you to be happier in the u.s. Try to explain to your mother how you really feel, your grandparents etc. Explain that you aren't happy. But i don't think you'll be able to do anything until your mother is healthy.
