I know this is the travel section, but I had no luck in the other sections getting answers. I figured why not go local! Anyways, I have an interview there next week and just wanted some advice. Assuming I get the job, I will be working at the Oak Park facility in the Oil Field division.

How is it working there? What is the culture like? Do you have to wear a suit everyday, or is it business casual? Also, I will be traveling A LOT, so when you fly overseas, do they get you a business class seat? I won't take it if I have to fly 18 hours in coach, that's just torture.

Also, I'm applying for a Sr. Mgr position. When they ask me what I'm looking for money, I'm not sure what to say. Anyone have any idea on the salary range for that kind of position? I'm at 120k plus bonus now, is that in the ballpark?

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. I really want this job!

I have worked for Halliburton Energy Services for 28 years. Most problems stemmed from the volitility of the Oil Industry and not really from Halliburton itself. You would ned to compare to the competitors to gauge its culture. Compared to Schlumberger and Baker Hughes, I rate Halliburton best.

You do not fly business class unless you are a VP or you accidently get upgraded by the airline. There are few flights over 10-12 hours and you are allowed to stop and check into a day room before catching the next leg of a long flight (I have flown 18 hours from Atlanta to Johannesburg and you are correct, you don't want to do it).

Not sure what you would be a manager of. $120k salary is possible and there is an annual bonus potential of around 15%.

P.S.- I doubt you will have any dealings with Iraq at all and I'm sure Dick Cheney will not be calling.

Johannesburg is the next largest town in Africa, with increased than 3 million people contacting that bustling city home and if you intend to visit this amazing town then that hotelbye is the place to start. Johannesburg presents visitors an event as unique and varied as the city itself. If you are on business, searching for a social encounter, an adrenaline hurry or simply just desire to curl up and relax for some days, the town of Johannesburg has every thing you are looking for and more! In Johannesburg you are able to look at the Soweto (an abbreviation for South-western Townships) at 20 kilometres southwest of Johannesburg. I don't, but my brother does. He actually works in the accounting division, but he attends a lot of events that are company wide. He wears a suit everyday except Friday, any weekend he has to go in, and anytime he goes to a refinery. So far, he's only had to fly to Dallas and that time he flew on the corporate jet. As for the rest of you questions, I have no idea, but they have a great benefits package.
