When your beloved pet goldfish turns "belly-up" take these precautions as you escort him to the great beyond.
Instructions
STEP 1: Use a mesh net to remove the dead goldfish from its tank. STEP 2: Place the goldfish in a small box and bury it outdoors if you prefer. Be sure to make a deep hole so neighborhood pets won't get curious and start digging. STEP 3: Place your goldfish on a saucer or wrap it up in tissue if you'd like to dispose of it the other way. STEP 4: Go into the bathroom. STEP 5: Slide the dead fish off the saucer into the toilet bowl, or throw the tissue-wrapped fish in the toilet. STEP 6: Say a few words of respect to the dearly departed, if you wish. STEP 7: Flush. STEP 8: Wash your hands and the saucer (if you used one) thoroughly with soap and hot water. STEP 9: Consider changing the tank water and cleaning the net and tank thoroughly if you have other fish or want to get a new one, in case your pet died of disease. STEP 10: Ask your local pet store what type of fish tank cleaning product is appropriate for the net and tank, and clean the tank thoroughly. Tips & Warnings
Soap and cleaning detergents are hazardous to fish. Avoid using these products unless you're dying to officiate another fish funeral.

If you wan a more humane way-Burried them + sent them some last prayers.

I did it twice to over 15 pcs of goldfishes as my clumsy dad off the power when he was just intending to off the light..Without power to the air-stones...Goldfishes just can't adapt that easy in tank...

You must be a man with knid-heart to wanting to seek answer to such question.

God bless you.

I actually have always flushed mine down the bathroom, yet I buried my 2 popular fish. examine to work out if the goldfish is in the guaranty the save gives you earlier you flush/bury it inspite of the actuality that, because if the shortcoming of life date IS interior assure, carry the body back to the puppy save, and reclaim you money.

Do NOT flush your fish. When they die their body starts to decompose. If you flush them, they will decompose in the water systems. When the water is treated the deseases can still be in the water from the fish making the water not safe to drink or use in almost anything. Do not flush your fish. Bury it outside or if that isnt an option, you can throw it away. I wouldnt suggest it though. It would smell bad.

just a side note: if you find that your fish has died awhile ago and its body is in a state of decomposition (which can happen rapidly in an aquarium situation) be sure to test your tank water parameters as soon as possible. decomposing organic matter can cause an ammonia spike that can lead to the deaths of other sensitive fish in the tank if not treated properly. if you are unable to test water parameters, do some water changes over the next few days just to be sure.

i don't like the idea of flushing. not only if it's too big can it really mess up your toilet, but if it died from a disease there is a chance it could end up in local waterways and infect wild fish, depends on how your sanitation works.

wrap it up in kitchen towel or newspaper and bury it in the garden to decompose that way. or if you don't have a garden, there's the regular trash (yay landfills -_-)

Flush it.
If its to big for that wrap it in paper towel and dispose of it in the garbage.
You never want to feed them to the Cat as most pet fish have been exposed to chemicals that can cause problems if ingested.
