Liberals want...

Education for their young...today's conservative bashes the educational system claiming a hidden political agenda impressed upon our young. Most education disciplines do NOT include a discussion of politics.

Proactive advocacy for the poor and working class american...today's conservative wants to banish social spending for the elderly and poor and pretend lazy people are the only people that benefit from such activities, a true misrepresentation.

... a free press...today's conservative bashes the press and calls it unamerican with a hidden agenda.

...wants a seperation of church and state while today's liberal seeks creationism and prayer be a cornerstone of our education system.

Conservatives only care about the second amendment.

Oh - and NASCAR of course.

Gotta love them little cars going round and round in a circle!

Yee ha!

No. I as a moderate do not believe the Conservative people are at all against the Bill of Rights, quite the contrary in fact and I believe the current Administrations gutting of the Bill of Rights has raised more than one Conservative eyebrow.

Remember the same question was asked about Liberals ie Democrats when President Clinton pushed through CALEA.

Don't lump the people in with the Administration that's doing the dirty work.

I would say you are engaging in some misrepresentations of your own here.

Conservatives are not against education and in fact encourage it. What we are against is liberal professors using a position of authority and the classroom as indoctrination centers for liberal ideology.

Conservatives are not against aiding the poor in our society. What they are against is the liberal idea that people cannot help themselves and are therefore entitled to a lifetime of assistance. Wether you choose to believe it or not there are many people on the welfare rolls who abuse the system and constitue a burden on the system overall. If people were to use the help available to get back on their feet there would be plenty to go around for anyone requiring such assistance. If you check traditional welfare entitlements all have increased dramatically over the last 10 years. This fact alone blows a giant hole in your theory on this.

Conservatives are not against a free press. They are against a the one sided monoploy in the press which existed for too many years. I personally don't believe the press is liberal, I just think that bad news sells better than good news so that is what they report in the majority. However, no one is denying their right to exist, nor are they demanding that they not be allowed to report whatever they choose. What is happening is an excercise of the right to speak out against that which you disagree with.

The words separation of church and state do not appear in the Constitution. This is the greatest bastardization of the document to ever occur. The Founding Fathers feared the state creating a religion which all would be forced to pledge allegiance to, or that one religion would be favored over another. This was born out of the absolute tyranny imposed by the Church of England with the support of the British Crown. Liberals have subverted this belief into the idea that there can be no expression of religion in government. The Founding Fathers were religious men, this is evident in their writings. They believed their actions were guided by the hand of God. It is unreasonable to believe that they would support the current distortions of their vision for this country.

You know you are entitled to believe whatever you choose to believe, but trying to show misrepresentation by citing distortions is neither honest, nor is it preferable in a free society. I support your right to believe as you choose, and all I ask in the ruturn is the same consideration for my beliefs.

Look, I have been a social worker within the Social Welfare System for thee past 12 years, you are sorely misguided in how you view a conservatives stance on the poo and working class in America. I have seen it FIRST HAND! Liberals will feed you for the night, conservatives will teach you how to fish and give you the ability to feed yourself FOREVER...that is how we flush out those you refer to as "lazy". And trust me, they are out there. I once had a woman (and for the sake of confidentiality I will change some minor facts but give you the big picture) who was pregnant with her 17th child! All of who, by the way, were born not just HIV positive but with full blown AIDS (except for the first two sons). Because of the system I was not allowed to speak with her about birth control! And she openly and proudly admits that she is simply "waiting on my check"!

I know it is easy for you to hate conservatives just because they are conservative, but please, I am begging you, please educate yourself on our political views before you make such vast and sweeping generalizations....it does not say much for your own political affiliation when you do so. Give peace a chance!

It has always surprised me when members of a party that supposedly stands for smaller government balk at the restrictions placed on the government by the Bill of Rights. If it wasn't for the Bill of Rights, frankly, they'd suffer. If they don't believe that, they should cuddle up to those guns they love so much and realize that, without the Bill of Rights, the government could take them away.
