This depends heavily on the policy of the company. Some companies have a "use it or lose it" policy while others have a policy that allows an employee to cash in unused vacation time, only after no longer an employee of the corporation.

relies upon on community state regulation. The state would require it, or the state would defer it to business company coverage. working in NJ and pa, i've got continuously been paid my leftover trip when I left. Ask your business company. in case you won't be in a position to, get somebody else to do it or touch your state dept of hard artwork.

The Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be able to answer that for you, it is lined out. Most times earned vacation is a mandatory pay out but sick time is not. Google it and look.
