Video game stores base their price on six factors:
1. Popularity - Obviously if they feel they can sell it for a good price, they'll offer you more.
2. Ratings from online game sites and magazines - Games will keep their value if they are highly rated from magazines like Game Informer, Electronic Gaming or popular websites like 1UP, IGN, GameSpot and GameSpy.
3. Quantity in stock/Rarity of game - Stores will look at their overall inventory. If they find that they have a large number of a particular game in stock, they will offer less money.
4. Age of game and system - Older games generally go down in price. Stores will also lower trade-in prices when the next generation of console is released. Games like Madden will have a high trade-in price when it is released, but will dramatically drop when the next version is released.
5. Quality of disk/case - Some game stores will offer less for scratched disk or a damaged case. (Ironically, they will often not lower the price to the seller, however.) They will also drop your trade-in price for a missing manual.
6. Store Membership/Coupon - Some stores will offer a percentage more for trade-ins if you join their store club. They will also offer a special coupon for a bonus. They typically offer these to build up their inventory before the holiday season.
I hope this helps!

I believe they basically work out its market value and deduct 50% or more for their troubles
You should try SwapWidget, its an online community of like minded gamers where you trade your old video games with others completely free. Its UK based and operates a virtual currency system called Swapcoins which they say is the best way to guarantee the safety and security of their members, since the currency can only be used on the site.

Worth a try, can't be worse than being offered peanuts by high street stores

Binary options let users trade in currency pairs and stocks for various predetermined time-periods, minimal of which is 30 seconds. Executing trades is straightforward. The system uses user-friendly interfaces, which even an 8 years old kid, can operate without having to read any instructions. But winning trades is Not easy.
Binary trading is advertised as the only genuine system that lets users earn preposterous amounts of money in ridiculously short period of time. Advertisers try to implicate as if you can make $350 every 60 seconds; if it was true then binary trading would truly be an astonishing business.
However, does it make any sense? Can every trader make tons of money in binary trading? Who is actually paying all the money or the profit to traders?
The first challenge is finding a trustworthy binary broker; secondly, you need to find a binary trading strategy, which you can use to make profits consistently. Without an effective trading strategy, there is no way you can make money in this business.
Learning a profitable trading strategy is possible, You should watch this presentation video https://tr.im/4f450
It's probably the best way to learn how to win with binary option

These stores give you 25% of the current retail value in the store, then re-sell it at 75% of the value.
If a game is popular, they will re-sell it at 90% of the value, and give you 50% of the value.

the best trading software http://tradingsolution.info
i have attended a lot of seminars, read counless books on forex trading and it all cost me thousands of dollars. the worst thing was i blew up my first account. after that i opened another account and the same thing happened again. i started to wonder why i couldn,t make any money in forex trading. at first i thought i knew everything about trading. finally i found that the main problem i have was i did not have the right mental in trading. as we know that psychology has great impact on our trading result. apart from psychology issue, there is another problem that we have to address. they are money management, market analysis, and entry/exit rules. to me money management is important in trading. i opened another account and start to trade profitably after i learnt from my past mistake. i don't trade emotionally anymore.
if you are serious about trading you need to address your weakness and try to fix it. no forex guru can make you Professional trader unless you want to learn from your mistake.
