What rights does a customer really have these days? Oh, I know we talk about them. But how much really exists?
I`ve been reading about staying at inns in London in the old days. Firstly, rooms were dirt cheap because landlords expected guests to patronise food and drink. These days rooms, food, and drink are priced up.
Secondly, when you left stuff in a room, the landlord accepted full responsibility for theft and/or loss. These days you leave stuff at your risk; and if you`re forced to book into one of the B&Bs which are the only affordable temp lodgings in London, you`re more than likely to find some of the stuff missing. But what could you have done to avoid it?
So for many of us, as travellers, hotels and guest houses have become more like prisons than places to revive and recharge.
In this day and age, the customer is ALWAYS wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
