For me its a close run thing between Guns'n'Roses and Bon Jovi. Even at the height of their popularity in the 1980's I thought both of them were at best derivative.

In my opinion it must be the rolling stones. It is a popular myth they are the biggest selling band since the beatles, not true! (Bee Gees are ) Mick Jagger received a nighthood for being one of Britains best musicians, not true! he cant even play an instrument! The rolling stones are also a three chord band like status quo, however this is always overlooked!

I have to go with the Beatles -- good stuff, but way, way overrated (and this coming from someone who grew up with the Beatles).
