I don't think seniors are draining America. Senior citizens are very wise they have been through a lot we can learn a lot from them. In most cultures seniors are praised and looked up to as elders. In the US they are put into nursing homes because their families don't want to take care of them. It is really sad.

Welfare is one of the biggest drains on the US. Don't get me wrong Some people need it. Unwed mothers with multiple children who say they do not know who the father is do not. Most are lying just to collect and so the gov cannot go after the father. I can see 1 mistake, but to qualify you must know who the father is. Another huge drain is illegal immigrant getting medical care for free in the US.. Its the law anybody walks into an emergency room saying there sick gets treated, with or without insurance. I've met people who've crossed the border from Mexico just for treatment then go home never to pay. Who says seniors are a drag?? they lived there whole lives paying taxes they deserve alot more than they get now.

The reason for that thinking is this. This is my view. America does not view old age as a token of getting wiser like other cultures do. I have lived in the USA all of my life and one thing my parents taught me was to respect the elderly. Society, however is teaching the opposite, viewing getting older not as getting wiser but as getting weaker, uglier, and less capable of doing things. Society has taught us that being young is better than getting old. As far as unwed mothers are concerned, I think society is also turning a blind eye to promiscuity. Where as before virginity and respect for the elderly as wise people was common, we no longer respect the elderly because we view the elderly as frail and a burden. Why do you think all of these products are coming out on how to stay young even at old age? I am not saying we shouldn't try to take care of ourselves as we get older because we should try to keep ourselves fit and healthy into old age so we don't get the problems that afflict the elderly, but the young people need to respect the elderly and learn from the elderly.

Seniors are not a drag. They are the pipe line to all the events that took place before we came along. Some seniors need more than others and some have more than others but you can always find a senior that fits into a situation that can offer you some satisfaction. As for caring for them, I found out from experience that if ever possible, please take care of your own first, then to another. No one can replace your own blood related senior. They come once so cherish them.

Well, seniors taking medicare and social security can be considered a drag, but i look at them like they have made their contributions to society...i like old people that arent cranky, because you can BS with them for hours and hours about how it used to be back in the day
Unwed mothers are a big drain....they will continue to be so, as long as we subsidize their lifestyle....if we didnt, it would be them who had the expense and trouble of going after their fathers....get rid of WIC and ssi for unwed mothers, and watch how fast they close their legs

I tend to agree with you there. I would prefer cutting off all foreign aid and taking taking care of our truly indigent to the best of our ability. Without the drag of foreign aid, we could afford to do that, fully fund every social program AND afford to hire people to VIGOROUSLY prosecute those who abuse those programs, fully fund every conceivable military program AND cut taxes. Getting rid of our payments to the worthless United Nations and pulling out our support and membership there would be a HUGE start in the right direction.
I think the internet society thinks Seniors are a bigger drag than unwed mothers because there are more unwed mothers hooked up and online with their computers than seniors.

Seniors, unlike unwed mothers, have actually paid into Social Security. They are not the drag. In my little corner of the world, welfare suckers, and disability recipients are the biggest drain. Here the state pays for unwed mothers to have kids. State pays for all medical bills, and delivery costs. State pays for medical on child after it is born. State increases welfare check for mother. State increases MY taxes! See how that works, girls and boys?
I can't tell you how many people in this area draw disability checks, and work for cash. They find people who will pay cash for their work, so they don't lose their DISABILITY CHECK!! It makes me SICK!

Unwed mothers are a drag because I have to use my tax dollars to keep them on WIC, welfare, and Medicade.
Elders are a drag because they have lived their whole life with no respect and they are the ones that deserve it, but the government is too busy trying to cut their social security so they are living on just a few hundred dollars a month and can't afford food or medication and no one cares.

I'm an unwed mother and very capable of taking care of myself. Not all UnWed Mothers, or seniors are a burden to our country. I am a productive member of society and do not need your help.

I think self-righteous middle-class Americans are the biggest drag.
I don't really understand the point of the question - you're trying to establish which minority group to persecute? Is that normal in your country?
