make the rest of english football minus the premiership look a total farce? The premiership must remember there league wouldnt mean nowt if it wasnt for the rest of football, as there would be no leagues below and people would soon lose intrest. What you think?

Steven j yeah i suppose thats more acceptable.I just think football isnt just about goals, some really good teams base themselves around an excellent defence and excellent defensive tactics by a gd manager.

This is so stupid, and has all the hallmarks of a cretinous ex Tory minister who feels he has to justify his position. It was bad enough when they were just playing around with the names of the divisions seemingly every year so you hardly know where you're at any more, but this is just starting to get worrying.
The idea that you can make a boring 0-0 exciting just by having a shoot out at the end is so misguided you have to wonder about their intelligence. Half the fans will have gone before the end anyway. And if it's a thrilling 3-3 draw why tack an anticlimax onto the end ???
It'll be a total farce.

at the moment it will ony be the 3 lower leagues,
i really dont kno what to think about it, i think it would be best left alone.
what happens if it comes in for a year, a team gets promoted to the league above but would not have made it if it wasnt for the points they picked up due to the new rule, and a team that had not benefitted so much from the rule just missed out on promotion. Only for the rule to be thrown out the season after
as someone said earlier, if it aint broke dont fix it

This idea if considered is for the football league only, and will come in to force from next season for just 1 year.
I think it is a daft idea.

They use to do it in U.S:A, now they want to do it here.
Ridiculous idea and just what is it supposed to cure.
All the teams that would play for a draw (those playing a far better one) would still play for a draw and take their chances with the shootout.
For god sake leave it alone!

Absolutely ridiculous. What's wrong with draws? Some of the best games I've seen have ended all square. If it comes to that fans should vote with their feet. Everybody leave when they start taking the penalties.

its a stupid idea but what i do like as a idea is that you only get 2pts for a home win and 3pts for a away win!!!! i think that would make the game more intresting!!!!! what are your oppinions of this idea?????????
