Hey, I have about 7 aloe veras & have been raising them since 1992. They are growing like wildfire but my problem is that I want THICK leaves, not the small ones!
How do I get thick leaves like my grandpa use to have.
Dimensions- mine are aprox 2 fingers wide, my grandpas were about 4 fingers wide.

maybe your Grandpa had a giant variety or ones that grow wild in the country....down here we have all kinds and types including the giants...........go to a plant nursery or your equivalent and ask about them or check cactus varieties in a book at your library........best of luck..

What kind of fertilizer did he use? Did you ever see him watering them or using something special on them? What kind of soil did he use? It could just be that he used a variety not normally seen where you are. Good luck finding out!
