Your question is far to filled with generalities to be credible.
1/ There is no draft so this question is moot. If there was then I am sure that women would be forced to sign up as well.
2/These are the only two cases that you can site when there are thousands upon thousand of men praying on young girls. Look at the what is going on in some of the churches? Historically males have preyed on students especially in higher learning institution with no penalties whatsoever.
3/ Women have received the death penalty but the percentage of women involved in these violent crimes is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than it is with males.
4/ When divorce occurs women's and childrens lifestyle drops substantially while the males rises. Explain that? Child support is not for the woman it is to support and pay for the necessities of the child such as clothing, food and shelter and in most cases it barely covers those. In fact there is a great many men who are badly in arrears and refuse to pay this. Women are also responsible for child maintenance and now that we are seeing more males taking over the role of caregiver when the marriage disolves this will reflect how the court divides the assets. Women who leave their children after a divorce are also stigmatized as being less than human so this also negatively influences how this viewed. Why is it that women have to pay income tax on child support when it is not actually income?? This certainly discrimates not only against the custodial parent but also against the child. 85 percent of those in poverty in North America are women and childre.

No... I actually think men have us beat. Men have become more restricted in what they are allowed to say, do, think or express and heaven help them if they go against the political correctness that has swept over human kind. I am not saying that men have not had their day, decade, century well you get the idea but going from a male dominated system in which all things favor males to a female dominated system in which all things favor females is not the answer - a balance is needed so that each PERSON has an equal shot at success AND failure.
1. Selective service, woman serve in the military also, we should have to sign up for selective service.
2. The child preditors... We all know that men have lead the way in this field since the beginning of time and it will continue to be so because of the opinions of males who think that as long as the sex is consensual noone is getting hurt - sorry guys you far outnumber women in this category. However I have never heard of any man being too handsome to serve his jail time in jail????? Figure that decision out???
3. Women get the death penalty less because we do not commit the hard crimes that men do and in the cases that women did commit those crimes they were adequately punished.
4. Child custody and divorce laws absolutely favor women, without a doubt but you have to ask yourself this question, how many men file for primary custody of the kids? Some of this is antiquated ideas that women are ALWAYS the better guardian for the children and some of this men can blame themselves for - check out the cases where children are involved in a divorce, the number of men who file for full custody are much lower than women and most of the time men are satisfied with joint custody with the wife being the primary residence this lets you have your cake and eat it too.
5. Women in the work place.... Do we really need to go here? We all know women take it on the chin in the work place....
Men have the good ole boys network and woman have the feminazi's I keep hearing about but over all I do feel like men's right are more threatened than womens.

It depends on the culture and the times, and also upon what the onlookers determine "discrimination", I'm assuming you mean that word in a negative aspect...
For instance in some countries it has been found that because of illiteracy, and discrimination against women in job force, it has caused their entire country to be at a huge disadvantage internationally, both educationally, and economically, and many crimes are resultant from this, especially the loathsome sexual slave trade, among others, as well as increased disease rates.
There's only one or two countries which has such high standards of equality among men and women that they are nigh equally represented by their law makers.
Women must be educated and treated well, they are the first teachers of every new generation, and if their condition deteriorates, so does the entire society by consequence. They are not better, but they tend to be progenitors of the underlying moral and educational quality of a society, while men tend to best be free innovators. If those innovations are derogatory toward women, man loses his freedom, and becomes a slave of social deformities, bigotries, and outcasts.
The strange truth is, if women were better treated, so would men be, both because intelligent women of high morals can aid men, as well as treat them with greater kindness effectively by their knowledge of remedies, and also because men would have fewer problems with other men, since women would help the men reduce their burdens and stresses, and leave few outside influences as significant by comparison.
The animosity between men and women, even among the "civil" nations, are a huge blemish upon the face of society. It alone is the cause of many ills. No one should be bitter from others, especially for something which is a natural occurrence of varying virtues, which all contribute to the general welfare synergystically.
The compensation for the past injustices to any group must not exceed the limits of good conscience to all who are alive today. If men are hated for women being mistreated then that will only worsen the disorder, men and women must both been treated kindly, educated, and respecting of the other, anything less is to visit the sins upon the children, and society at large.

I know of a fast food restaurant and for the last twenty years has only hired attractive teenage girls.
There is a misconception about the reasons why men get paid more.
Mainly women take more time off.
They spend more time at work making personal phone calls.
They take pregnancy leave (some companies allow men to do this as well, but most men don’t.)
However, women smile while at work and are actually happy.
This maybe because if a man looses him job he will be living in his car, a woman on the other hand if she looses her job. She has her husband to support her.
No one has the right to tell another human being not to get married or to be alone. What you value has no effect on what others value
I have a friend who got custody of his children because his ex-wife was unstable. The case worker refused to listen to the children say the truth about their mother. The mother was abusive. She, the case worker already had a preconceived idea, it always men’s fault.
From what I have seen women tend to avoid responsibility, it always the mans fault. I have also witnessed while attending college that women are not held accountable for their actions. Additionally, I was raised by a single mother and every woman around me had the attitude that “All men are perpetrators and all women are victims.”
Just because a woman can have a child does not make her a mother.
In some countries they cut off the woman clitoris. Their life is to serve men. Instead of sniveling about the minor stuff in civilized countries maybe we could improve the lives of people around the world.
Look at what the U.S. has done for women in Afghanistan.

I'm going to agree with you on this one. Men and women are equally discriminated against if you look at the number of issues. However, the main reason that we pay more attention to women being discriminated against is because in alot of the situations that men are discriminated against they only happen to a certain number of men. With women most issues are in regards to all women. For instance all women are likely to be paid less than their male counter parts. On the other hand, I think that a second reason why men are viewed as having it more easy is that when a group is a minority they tend to receive less criticism. Because women are a minority the negatives that are done to them are emphasized because they are viewed as a way of continuing the oppression of the past. Men havn't been oppressed in the past so this doesn't apply to them. Just think about it. How many times have you heard women make sexist remarks about men? I'm sure there have been many times but since women have minority status their remarks are viewed as light hearted or even a backlash at some form of oppression. When men do it they are rebuked and immediatly lose alot of support. The ideas on who is really oppressed are sort of based on perspective.

No, but in different ways. Women have difficulty attaining power, but men have difficulty attaining duties and privileges that were once reserved for women. For example, it is harder for a man to get his surname changed to his wife's name. Also, there are jobs, like certain kinds of teachers, and daycare jobs, that men are mostly excluded from.
Then there is what society expects of men. Right now women have a sort of safety net because they have gained rights, but the costs of those rights have not caught up to them yet. People looked down on single men who are raising children children if they get welfare, or can't provide for them. A woman gets some benefit. We always hear about a single mother of two, but never a single father of two.
But, then the question is, who imposed these expectations?

Maybe because back before "normal" time period women would stay in the house and not do any work. The guys would go out and do all the hard work which means they be more aggressive. Women are more responsible than some men. After that women tend to relate more to children than men, to me I think its just because women "had" the child, and it wouldn't be right if they went through labor and 9 months of trouble and them not be able to be with their child.
Don't get me wrong I know alot of responsible dads. I guess its just how the court is.

I think a good way to think about the feminist movement is more as a "humanist" movement. Our culture has, for a long time, put men and women in distincly labelled boxes. For a while these boxes served a purpose for our society. Men are stronger (usually) than women, men were expected to be in the military while the women "kept the home fires burning". Unforturnately, as with many labels, it became a tightly held belief that these divisions of labor were not for societal expediency, it was a matter of ability. One of the most tragic sayings I know is, "boys don't cry". The forced stifling of emotions was actually horribly abusive to young boys, and carried over to their leading adult lives so dimished by the need for the macho cover up. These arbitrary societal laws caused a lot of pain for both genders. For example, as you correctly point out, child custody has generally been awarded to women (whether this is favoring them or not is point for another debate), but while women may have been awarded the care of children, they were also paid less, more apt to be laid off, and unable to make career advancements men did. So both the mother, father, and child got a raw deal there. Now when you begin to talk about "equal" discrimination, it makes me nervous. Discrimination is in itself unequal treatmen, and one of the tenets of the women's movement is that all people should be treated without discrimination.
EDIT ADDITION: The phrasing of this question, as well as many of the answers, seem to set up a "my side gets screwed more than your side" context. That is beside the point. Discrimination and unfairness should be discouraged no matter who it affects. To set up a scale of grievances, with each side pointing to their own as the most heavily wronged is divisive. I don't like it when men are discriminated against, or green people or kinkagoo worshipers. Many women have decided to direct their efforts toward correcting the discrimination against women, I applaud them. I also applaud those who work toward the end of discrimination against groups to which they do not belong, and there have been many.

If you adjust for the type of position, education, experience, and seniority, women are paid penny-for-penny as much as men. This "glass ceiling" canard is a total myth.
Yes, if you average the wages of all men and all women, the average of the women's is less, because women take fewer, more part-time, and less risky jobs. That's because they can, and they choose to, oftentimes having a man's income to supplement their own. Do you know any men who have that luxury? I sure don't.
Although men commit more violent crime on average than women, you are correct that the sentences for women are more lenient for those for men, for the exact same crimes.
I would like to see a source for the "statistic" that post-divorce, men's standard of living rises and women's falls. So many "statistics" that feminists cite to ensure their perpetual victim status--e.g., the Super Bowl myth, the 1/4-of-college-women-will-be-raped myth--that I don't take any of them at face value anymore.

i think in the past it was more clear, although it was just how it was, but now it's getting a bit out of hand as women are getting too much perks and advantages from different areas, such as the justice system, the work force. it is not becoming equality, but it seems that men are being abused and being forgotten.

Men are more discriminated against than men, thanks to many feminists that have demanded many laws and social constructs that equate to double-standards against men.
EDIT: And Deidre, the know-it-all is mistaken once again. She said "there is no draft but I'm sure women would have to sign up too." For one, the asker said "selective service system," not the draft. Only men have to sign up for it. And you sign up for it at around age 18. It's so in case there is a large scale war, they can call up people for a draft. And secondly, you're wrong in saying women would be drafted, because currently, the measure only allows for men to be drafted.
