Firstly, please let me know if they are cheaper in Chennai than in Kancheepuram. Some of my friends say that Kancheepuram Silk sarees are cheaper in Kancheepuram than in Chennai. However, few say that it is expensive in Kancheepuram because of the tourists inflow. I'm confused!! Please help!
Also, can you let me know shop names which sell authentic Kancheevaram Silk Sarees at reasonable price? (both in Chennai and in Kancheevaram)?

Well if you are up for the game as well, You may get some really good stuff in Kanchipuram. The only condition is that you should be willing to wade through its streets, nearby areas, inside home factories in interiors, local weather and alike, There is hardly an organised market place in Kanchipuram as such for their stuff. Some of their outputs don't show up even in markets like Chennai And Bangalore and is lifted from their facilities. Language could be a problem for a non-Tamilian to communicate with the weavers - yet if you are smart in human communication otherwise, you can see some exceptional stuff at places and bargain too. Don't be shocked if the locals outwit you at places in many ways, otherwise they are friendly - after all it is a business for them.
