Two reasons: it's a cool visual, cause it's much easier to watch the penetration. And it feels grippier, especially compared to vaginal with a woman that's had a kid or two. The key is lots of lube, gently massaging with lube her until you're sure she's ready, and entering very slowly.

I take it you mean anal sex with women? A man wanting to do this has absolutely nothing to do with being gay (actually most gay men don't do anal either because it's painful). I've found there are two reasons why guys try to do this with women:
1) They watch too much porn that gives them unrealistic ideas about it.
2) This sexual act is kind of aggressive, and men that tell me they like doing this are kind of angry or sometimes leaning towards sexist.

Because it feels good to some people. Not all men and women are comfortable with anal sex and anal play but many like the feel they get from it.

well, it's a way for a guy to have intercourse with a woman without her getting pregnant. won't keep you from getting nasty std's though.
Also, to clarify what other posters have said...anal sex itself is neither gay nor straight. if i guy gets off on anal stimulation, but only wants girls to do it to him, he's still straight. sexual orientation is about who you want as a sexual partner, not what you do with that partner.

no clue...i tried it once, kinda embarrasing...the girl said it hurt, but told me to keep trying....it still hurt.....really killed the mood....we broke up....I wasnt even interested in trying, she was, but I dont think i will ever again. Im with the girl i want to marry and we made a rule, I wont stick anything in her "passage" and she wont stick anything in mine.....a better question, i wonder, is why do STRAIGHT men like when women put fingers in THEIR "passage?" Like, no thanks, Ill stick to the pleasuring of my unit.....good question though...
