Shereen... a million kisses your way (",) xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Fish angel, I'm sure you must meet up with a lot of Scotts here in RSA...
Well, this is from a Joburgers point of view. The lady I used to work for is permanently here, running a business and loving it. She has a little 6 year old (what a naughty boy), used to baby sit for her when they went out...I love the Scottish accent, used to party a lot with them around Fourways... they made my job seem like heaven. Such a loving and giving family. Especially her mom and dad who were beyond words! The funniest elderly couple I'd ever met. Ted and I used to watch English soccer together and play pool...and boy can they down a few! But they always had a spare room for me and so much love as well... Aaah I miss those guys. Around Fourways, if you spend time around places like Chefs in Motion, Monte Casino...I'm sure a familiar accent will catch your attention (ear), and you'll end up being introduced to an entire community. Would give you details...but there's trust issues anyway... but you'll be fine...mwah!!!

enjoy

So understandable...I would be homesick as well, if its any consolation, i am in South Africa and trust me this is the most beautiful country to explore, if you give it much time and have enough patience you will realise how wrong alf garn is...There is more to this beautiful country then crime and all the negative things that i presume is affecting most Countries in the world. If you had just mentioned where you were i would be sure to tell you a few places to visit to experience the full South African Cultural Diversity..That should keep your mind occupied enough for you not to think of the pleasure of being home with the ones you love...Trust me i think you made a great choice by being here in Mzantsi (As we locals call it)

Sorry you're homesick! I'm not going to be of any help, just thought I'd send some cheer anyway...I'm from Rhode Island in the States, and felt like saying "Hi" to someone far, far away!

I am sending you Glaswegian cheer (albeit from London) and here is something you can check out:

If you can get hold of haggis and deep fried Mars Bars in SA go for it, that will make you feel better.

Not so cheery, it's supposed to start snowing over the weekend and stay bitter cold for the rest of the month!!

A wee dram, anyone?
