Most Acer prefer to be out side protected from harsh winds and too much heavy frost, they will grow indoors for a while but remember they are trees, some are slow growing most are not. If you plant your Acer in a large enough pot and give it plenty of water and don't forget to feed it you should be alright for a few years. Here are a few that should live in the house for a few years as long as they get the sun, they will do well in a conservatory.
Acer plamatum(disectum garnet)
Acer plamatum(disectum crimson queen)
Acer plamatum(Japanese butterfly)
These are slow growing, but remember thy are trees and they will eventually need to be moved outside, you could try putting them out in summer. Acers are all deciduous(lose their leaves in winter).
Good luck.

If you have a room with lots of light you can use a Flowering Maple (Abutilon). They have a maple shaped leaf which is light green. I have one that has red flowers but you can also get them in yellow, white, pink and orange. They tend to be a little messy and need regular pruning. I move mine to the deck in the summer where it blooms all season. Make sure you fertilize regularly.

The answer is no.
An Acer needs outdoor light, and indoors is far too dry.

All maples need high light and a cooling period in the winter. You probably won't have much success growing one inside.

You could consider a Japanese maple but it would need plenty of light. You would need alot of money too, these trees arent cheap. I have seen Japanese maples in lobbies of hotels where they have a skylight to get lots of sun.
