For example, I downloaded maplestory. But when ever I click the install icon, there will be this hourglass cursor and after a moment, the hourglass cursor will revert to the normal arrow cursor. Is there anything I can do to download it? Is there a possibility of my computer having a virus?

I think its just that file that your are trying to install. it may be corrupt. try to download something else and install it and see if the same thing happens. If it does then there could be something wrong with your machine(operating system)... you might want to update your machine with the latest updates from microsoft.com... its usually the windows installer that has a problem....

To be safe run your anti-spyware program and anti-Virus program first,
If there isn't any spyware/viruses then delete the file and download it again, You may have gotten a bad download

I think the problem is with the file you have downloaded.delete it and download it again.
