Either come up with some design of your own or get an aftermarket design to either replace the lights or remove your current lights and mount them lower. Pretty picky cop I think.

I'd rather have headlights shining over my roof rather than 48" shining in my back window. Soon you'll have to use the washroom on schedule or else you'll get a ticket. What about people who put lights across their roof on pick-up trucks.....they are just as powerful as headlights...... what because there not headlights......... It shows you what kind of people run this country and make the laws. They should get a hefty fine for a law that doesn't make any sense. I would see if you can get brackets for this at an automotive shop and mount them your otherwise a welder can fabricate them for you.and mount under the bumper, but I would definately fight this ticket and use the argument I just used. Take pictures of a bunch of trucks with the lights across the roof to court and make them look like idiots. Also you could ask GM if modifying your truck that way would void the warranty....if so, you have another card in your hand to play. Plus wouldn't the headlights now be considered as bumper lights and you could get a ticket for having no headlights. The other thing you can do to avoid taking time off work, and going to court, is to make a formal complaint against the officers who gave you the ticket...and use the argument I gave you (plus harrasment). A friend did this and the cop called him and destroyed the ticket. If you do this, be calm and don't go in with a righteous attitude....but say I don't understand this ticket and explain your reasoning behind it. Also ask how you can rectify the situation, and where to put the lights. Then they will be scrambling to give you an answer, and bend over backwards to help you. You could lower your truck and send the police department the bill. ( lol). I can understand if your frustrated over this.

God Bless You

Daniel

Put an aftermarket set of driving lights under your bumper. Round here they mesure to the frame at the point the rear bumper attaches 30".

Get yourself a set of the add on lights they sell for snowplows

Fabricate a bracket at the right height above the road, and mount them. They are mounted with a stud for the most part. Then have your fix it ticket signed off.

tell the cop to go find some criminal to harass, and leave you alone.
Seriousley though,
there are adjusters on each side of the head light houseings.shine your lights on some thing. mark the area, ware the 48" mark falls to, and adjust the lights till the center of the light beam, seems to shine into the center
OR
Have your favorite mechanic do it for you.
