Apparently 1 in 3 pregnancies ends in miscarriage before 12 weeks, although most of these are before you really know you're pregnant. I had two miscarriages at 6 and 10 weeks. With my third pregnancy I took a small dose of aspirin every day for the first 12 weeks and now have a beautiful baby boy. You could talk to your doctor about this.

The chances of having a healthy pregnancy go from 80% to 97% after the end of first trimsester, at around weeks 12-14. I also read that once the heartbeat is detectable, you are less likely to miscarry too. I am thirteen and a half weeks now. I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks last september.

Miscarriages or missed abortions can happen throughout your whole pregnancy.. unfortunately, but the chances decrease by 80% after the 1st trimester (13wks) and go to 95% after the 2nd trimester. I have had 2 miscarriages one at 6 wks and the other was 11 wks. The 2nd one was due to a chromosome disorder -Turner's syndrome. I wish you all the luck in your pregnancy and try not to stress over anything.

I've always heard you are safer after 3 months of pregnancy, though it can still happen after that. Probably the farther along you are, the safer you are. I've also heard that the more morning sickness you have, that you are less likely to miscarry. This proved true for my step sister who has had multiple miscarriages. I had a miscarriage, though, and I was having bad morning sickness, so who knows... Really, I think there is no guarantee of anything in life.

A healthy pregnancy usually depends on the condition of the ovary of a woman...According to Modern Medical guide:The cause of miscarriage can only be determined by the doctor, and when this is the case he can advise whether another pregnancy might lead to same misfortune. When the cause is corrected a woman is able to carry the next pregnancy through to its normal termination. Its means that a healthy woman produces a healthy offspring..Some causes of miscarriage are excessive physical work, strenuous activities and drugs.

I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks in April. We "saw" a heart beat but couldn't pick it up. Dr. have told me that after 12 you are more out of the woods.

best of luck

Do you have a reason to assume your body would fail you or the baby?

Most miscarriages are in the frist 12 weeks, and most happen before you realize you're pregnant, or shortly after finding out. Generally because the embryo isnt viable, or external situations are effecting your body negatively. Things like sickness, or stress can cause your body to abort a pregnancy before it has much invested in it. Generally its things you have no control over, or dont know you need to avoid, such as stress.

Unless you have a reason to believe your body would fail you, you really shouldnt even consider it doing so. It only stresses you out and makes your pregnancy unenjoyable.
