The knot that I'm looking for should be able to be easily adjustable, so that I can tighten my bundle of lath each time that I use one. Can anyone show me a site where I can find this knot and how to tie it?

the easiest thing i can think of is doubling the rope [end to end with loop at other end]. lay rope down and load lath on rope. pull the two ends thru the loop and pull tight, carry by the two ends.

another option would be to create a small loop at one end and, after loading as above, pull the loose end thru the loop and pull tight.

I forget the name of this knot, but it is perfect for your needs. Cut a piece of rope to 6-8 feet, depending on the size of the bundle you're carrying. Ties the ends together with your favorite bight I like the double bowline for this. Now, make a loop like you would if this were a giant yo-yo string and place the bundle where your finger would go. Place the center of the bundle between the two loops that are now holding it and place the two loops 1' apart. It will tighten when you pick it up by the carry handle and will give you enough slack when you set it down to pull out the lath.

Find yourself an old Duffle Bag, or Golf bag. Put the lath in it, sling the bag over your shoulder and away you go.
