i use 2 feet and i never had a wreck.all i do is take my left foot and hit the brake, when i come to a stop, and at the sam,e time i let off the gas with my right foot.if a person does it enough times,he doesnt make a mistake.its jusy routine to me.but if iam driving a manuel, then i have to use both feet.1 for the brake and the other to push the clutch in.it doesnt hurt my brakes, because i dont let my foot rest on the brake.

tell hubby that YES it is bad beacuse even though he swears that he is not pressing on the brake pedal, he really is and it is causing the brakes to wear prematurely, and even more dangerous, this type of behavior will lead the brake fluid to overheat and it is very likely to cause the brakes to fail. if what he was doing wasn't a safety issue it would be a different story, but this can kill you ...

Just do a little research on "brake fade" and it'll explain in more detail what happens when brakes overheat

It could be dangerous if he mistakenly uses the wrong leg and presses the gas when he meant to press the brake. But if he's used to it then I don't think its bad or does any damage because it requires the same reaction time as using one foot

one foot only for brake and excelerater. two feet if a clutch pedal is there also.
A two footed driver is parinoid, being afraid that their foot would not move fast enough from pedal to pedal in a emergency.

As for damage, yes, it will give your brakes a short life

I drive with two feet and my brakes are fine. It's easy to hover your foot over the brake without pressing it and most of the time I have my foot rest next to it.

And to those who say that we could make the mistake of pressing the gas instead of the brake, I say that is crap. It's like saying you might accidentally write with the wrong hand.

I would say driving with one foot would liken your chances of accidentally hitting the wrong pedal since you have to move your foot back and forth.

i dont think it does anything to the car but if you take a drivers test and you do that they fail you automatically you can confuse yourself easily into mashing the gas when you need to stop or vise versa and it can cause you to wreck he needs to practice driving normal before something bad happens.
