When you look in the mirror you don't look too bad but when someone takes your photo you look terrible?

All a matter of perception...I think :-) It's ok though, I am sure you look good if you say you look good in the mirror. Cameras and video are a little tricky.

Because photographs are in two dimensions while, when you look in the mirror, it's still in three dimensions.

Everyone is their own worst critic, and besides that lighting and make a hell of a difference. The flash on cameras can be killer sometimes.
