i bought a door for my 1996 cavalier door. the only problem is that my car is factory paint purple. the door is factory color red. where do i buy the paint to put it on myself. autozone dont carry the color. i have 2 find out the name. so they can order it on line. do i go 2 a chevolet dealer wouldnt they know exactly what color i need. what needs to be done to paint the red door purple.

I wouldn't waste my money getting the paint from a dealer. I know the Napa store were I go often and they can get you close to the same color as the factory, then you when you paint the door you would do a blend where you let the over spray hit the areas around the door. you will not even notice the differences in color and spend in the money at a dealer for the paint will cost to much for a 96 cava, sorry our cars just are not worth enough to spend that kind of money on. IMO

Go to a body shop supply store, NAPA, CarQuest, or anywhere they MIX paint for cars. The color code for your car is IN THE TRUNK (not the door post) on a white sticker marked "Service Parts Identification" the color code is on the bottom of this tag. It will be the letters WA with 4 digits after.

yeah, the parts department should know.or be able to look it up. Otherwise somebody else other than autozone. Autopaint supply store.

YES i WOULD TAKE IT TO A CHEVY DEALER THEY CAN LOOK AT THE STICKER ON THE DOOR FRAME TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT COLOR IT IS AND CAN SPECIAL ORDER IT FOR YOU
