Why do so many peole say instead of abortion do adoption. I personally would never have an abortion unless my pregnancy was ectopic or something.. Do you knwo how many children were put up for adoption and still don't have homes, more than you think. so many people whish they could have children and cna't but not enough. too many kids are looking for home and are bouncing around in foster care. it is also hard to adopt a child conidering it costs a lot of money. and if abortion were illegal then there would be so many young girls killing themselves or getting back alley abortions and getting infections. and to those who say that woman whoes rape resulted in pregnancy they should still keep the baby. Think if you would truly want to go through life looking into the eyes of your rapist every day. it is not easy for someone to give there child up for adoption. in fact it's harder than abortion. Speaking from a woamn who is 34 weeks pregnant aand loving it

First of all trouble...penicillin was around before Roe v Wade. Look up your facts before spewing ignorance.

Second, yes there are waiting lists for babies - WHITE babies. Sadly there are a lot of minority babies and children that never get adopted because of the color of their skin. So it's easy to say "there are all these people that want to adopt kids" but you need to look at what kids these people are willing to adopt. Once again, get your facts straight.

The children sit because the system has so much red tape. There is not a lack of people wanting to adopt. In fact, there are waiting lists. However, most of the children in foster care already have parents. The problem is the standard of care they provide the children.

What I've seen is that the parents hop in just in time to save their parental rights. Then, they disappear again. It's the children that suffer. It's like they are caught in the middle. Finally, when the parents rights are severed after many such incidents the child is 14 or older. And, they long for a family more than before. Unfortanetaly, most people don't want to adopt an older child.

Actually, your "facts" are completely UNTRUE. There are a LOT more people who want to adopt out there than babies... these are people who are signed with an adoption agency, have the financial means to adopt, and just waiting to get the call that a birth mom chose them. They wait 2 to 5 years.. sometimes MORE for a baby.

Foster care is full because of children being removed from their homes, not because the baby was placed for adoption and a suitable home couldn't be found. Yes, there is home with lots of issues and not everyone is willing to take that on.

As far as "back alley abortions" go- do you know WHY those women died from back alley abortions before Roe v Wade? NO ANTIBIOTICS, that's right, Penicillin wasn't invented yet! After the invention of Penicillin, it was very low risk. If making abortion legal fixed everything, why do women die from it NOW (yes, not heard about often but it happens) and ALSO, why we hear about dumped babies ALL THE TIME? Why did so many states adopt that law that you can leave a newborn at a fire station/police station/hospital and not be prosecuted for abandonment?

The reason I don't support the abortion of babies who are the result of rape is that you can't punish a child for the sins of it's father. If you could, then maybe we should go murder Tara Grant's children because her husband's a murderer. There's no one saying that woman needs to raise that child if she doesn't feel able. She can make an adoption plan. The other problem is that many of those women feel victimized TWICE, first by the act of the rape, second by the many times coerced abortion.

Adoption's not an easy decision or thing to do but it's a GREAT THING. The thing is that if you have sex and aren't prepared for a child, then you need to deal with your consequences.. it's not the child's fault that you acted irresponsibly and they shouldn't have to suffer. If it means that you carry a baby to term and place it for adoption, then so be it. If it means that you carry it to term and raise it, so be it!

THIS coming from a woman who was pregnant at 15 and had her child at 16 and stepped up as a WOMAN to care for my child!!!

I agree with you 100%. I have two toddler boys and 36 weeks pregnant with my third boy!!! I would never consider abortion myself, however I am pro-choice. I also agree that it would be much much harder to give your child up after carrying him/her for 40 weeks. I know so many people that want children so badly and can't have their own. Some people just want to have their own instead of adopt. And then I know others who can't stop having children, they have all different fathers, and a mother who has to resort to welfare because she can't financially provide for her children on her own. The rape thing is so true. If I were to ever get an abortion it would be because of that. My sister was 13 and raped. Well, needless to say she got pregnant . For a girl just turning thirteen could you imagine what was running through her head??? When my mother took her for her abortion, there were all kinds of people yelling at her, throwing things at her, shouting obscenities. Calling her a murderer, baby killer, you name it. How can people justify calling a baby a baby killer? I think these abortion activists need to really think before they speak. Because a 13 yr old girl deserves to get raped and wind up pregnant right? oh wait a minute, thats GOD'S doing. He did this, he gave her a child at 13. GIVE ME A BREAK !!!! I've heard it all. It will never cease to amaze me, the audacity of some people.

I strongly disagree with you. I am also pregnant. IN the case of rape, i do agree with the opinion that abortion should be a choice.. most people do get the morning after pill when they are raped anyways.. if you do it the morning after, its not even a baby yet.. so that really does not matter... BUt that is the ONLY reason i would ever even consider abortion. What you are saying is that you believe it would be better to just kill babies than give them up for adoption and never even give them a chance at life? Coming from a mother i cant believe you would even say such a thing. Alot of babies get adopted, i have adoptions in my family. I know alot of people who cannot have children and plan to adopt. And most mothers who choose to give the baby up change their minds after giving birth and bonding with the baby. All im saying is the baby should be able to have a chance at life.. not be killed because the mother decided to have unprotected sex. If your not ready for a kid, then USE PROTECTIOn.... if you get pregnant accidentally, then god wanted you to for a reason.
