If it came from Singapore and posted to Watch TV then they posted it to you, then Watch TV are liable for the tax charges. But they may have done a crafty one by ordering the watch with your name and address as shipping details because then you become liable for the tax. They should of informed you when you made the purchase, i take it you phoned them to buy the item, they should of told you then. I'm sure they have stung many other customers like this. Write to them complain and threaten them with Watchdog that usually does the trick!

Nope afraid they are right...........Its called tax. I got stung for it when I bought stuff from America. These companies do charge a shipping fee but thats not what this 25quid is for.
Since it was bought overseas you have to pay tax on it.

If it is a fee issued by customs then yes you are legally obliged to pay it.
If it is a fee charged by the company where it was purchased from then no.

items purchased abroad over (I think) £18 are subject to import duty and handling fees - its the governments way of promoting global fair trading, by charging excessive amounts that are often in excess of the cost of the item...

It's called fine print. It's all in that little white lettered disclaimer at the bottom of the screen that they flash up from time to time.

This is probably a revenue tax, which I think you are liable for although you should have been told about it first.
