as an Englishman i find it amazing that Americans cant speak proper English like what we does,cuz theyve bin speaking it for ages.

Americans speak American English beautifully, Just as Englishmen speak British English beautifully and Indian citizens speak Indian English beautifully.
English exists in it's true form all over the world, spoken by people who speak proper English for the area that they are in.

Most Americans I know have a better mastery of the language than the average Brit.
Probably because they place a higher value on education than the English do.
Most cultures that are imported are stuck in the time they left... hence, Americans speak in a fashion more closely related to Shakespearean English, than the poor sods left in London.

The English language is dynamic and changes all the time.
It's not even truly english as it has been changed so dramatically over the years by foreign influences - Romans, Saxons, Danes etc.
If you want to hear something akin to the origonal english language go to wales or Ireland - that is basically what they speak.
Dialect is a different story altogether, duck, and that is being systematically destroyed by the influence of television.

American English is different.It has its own rules.It is simple.All languages are means of communication.Even English evloved from french or latin.Uk English hasgot nothing to claim any superiority.

It's the young ones who were at loss in mastering our creator's universal communication system in one new universal language and one speech that was lost with time after independence in planet of apes.
Now that they know what is missing.
They just trying to recover the loss time they had missed out earlier in planet of apes.

may I remind you the only reason the british have such a "pretty" accent's b/c Queen Victoria thought that it would sound as beautiful as the romance languages spoken in Spain, France, Italy, and Portugal! Other wise before that YA'LL spoke like us! And we understand one/another(Americans) and that's all that matters!

I think it is because of our integration with people from all over. I know in my city it is over half hispanic. The school system has to concentrate really hard to bring them up to level on speaking. My kids do not get the attention they need from thier teacher due to this. Also I would be more concerned with your grammar and typing if I were you wanker.

but think about it, the English have dialects, so therefore change the very basis of some words, whereas the Americans, and other nationalities have accents, so actually do speak correct English.
