The more I love my job, the less it pays!! (I've had several). I've had a well-paying job that made me miserable. Ok, if money can't buy happiness, is it worth doing a job you feel called to do or work a well-paying job to retire after 30 years, comfortably? (No guarantee of that these days, either). Ok, answer away!

at the end of the day if you enjoy what you do its not like work ..right but if you hate what you do its excruciating after all most of you're day will be spent there i suppose it depends on you what do you want most...money or happiness, frankly i think if you hate you're job and stay in it till you retire you may end up cynical, bitter and angry..i guess you got to live YOUR truth and no one else but i don't see what good money will do you if you're all bitter from being in a job you hate but what do i know I'm just a stay at home mom...but a happy one

When I was younger, I thought is was all about how much I made. I found out later in life that the thing that is most important is to be happy in what you do and like the person looking back at you in the mirror.

I am in the car business, have been for over 7-years and have worked for dealers that paid me very very well for my services. I also had to put up with working 70-hours weeks and being yelled at on a weekly basis.

I now work for a dealer that pays me OK. That is I can pay my bills and lead a nice lifestyle but it's nothing like what I used to make. But, I only work 45-hours a week and love the people I work for. They are actually to nice to be in this business.

So I guess what I am saying is it's a trade off. In the long run if you are not happy at work it will end up messing up you home life and you will be miserable.

Hope this helps.

We live in the real world- take the money. You might end up liking that job a lot more than you think. If not, why not pursue the other job you care about more later. So, if you already have enough money in your accounts so that you are totally financially secure, take the job you love. If not, get there, then seek out the job you love again. -or if the difference, is minimal, take the job you love. Is it a lot more money?

LOVE your job. If you work a job you hate you will get ulcers, depression, diabetes, fat, backaches, headaches and your unhappiness will bleed into all your friends and family. The COST of all of the above will be far more than the difference in pay between the two jobs. BESIDES keeping with what you love is what will open up the possibility to find a way to get RICH from it. It can happen.

Get a job you truly love--it pays less no doubt, they always do. But it is well worth it. Your health will suffer if you take a job just for the money you will make. Do you want to be a corporate stooge? I think not. Do want you love--retirement may never come anyway for anybody.

It is more important, I think, to have a job you love. The reason: if you truly enjoy your work, you will give it your all and success will come to you more easily.

If you love your work, you will be more likely to have original ideas, more likely to go above and beyond to do the work, and more likely to get along with your coworkers! Your extraordinary performance will be rewarded by money, and a lot more.

I think accepting a job that you abhor simply because it pays a lot of money is a decision driven by fear and insecurity. Money is no fun if you've made yourself miserable to get it!

Find a job you love to do. Money can be saved and you can plan for your retirement. Make sure to stay debt free - no credit card bills, no loans - and always "pay yourself" first. (Put money into a savings account with each paycheck). Works best if you do an automatic withdrawl into savings...
If you love what you are doing, it does not seem like a "job"!

A well paying joy will allow you to do the things you love to do in your spare time. A job you love will not allow you to do much of anything.

A job that pays well may not be exactly what you love to do but make the most of it. Enjoy its good points and look for things you can do to make it more enjoyable.

Love your job. Its a terrible life to have to go - day in and day out to a job you hate. You will spend many hours at your job and you don't want to be miserable.

Do what you love; it will often lead to opportunities that pay better and that you still enjoy.

If you do what makes you miserable, you may not live long enough to comfortably retire because you'll die from stress. :(
