When using Microsoft Internet Explorer 7?

My system is about 1200mhz with 512mb of memory, so it can run the internet with ease.

BUT, whenever i start doing tabbed browsing in IE7, or open more than one IE 7 window, everything starts to slow down and windows start turning completely white, before small sections of the window start to appear. It doesnt do this all the time, but it does do it quite often.

It is so frustrating. Is it my computer, is it IE 7 or is it both? It never did this with IE6.

What would you recommend?

There is a known issue with IE7 and it's antisphishing tool that can cause serious slow downs; try switching this feature off and restarting IE to see if there is any improvement.
Go to Tools>Phishing Filter>Turn Off Automatic Website checking>select the off button>OK

The symbol for tools is the grey gear wheel; if you can't see it, use the menu bar. Press ALT.

If problems persist, clean your browser cache and cookies. Use CCleaner it's free here
http://www.ccleaner.com

under the IE tab, check the boxes marked temporary internet files, cookies, history, recently typed urls, delete index.dat files (these will be cleaned when you restart your pc not just your browser!). Click on run cleaner.

If you don't have a good spy scanner already, use Spybot Search & Destroy, free here

Sometimes some antivirus or antispyware settings can cause slow downs in IE, especially Spyware Doctor which is a resource hog in my opinion.

If you are worried about phishing sites, there are good alternatives such as McAfee Site advisor free here

or use an online site such as Scandoo or Linkscanner

good luck

I haven't suffered from this for around 2 months!
This is because I don't use Internet Explorer anymore, I use Mozilla Firefox.

As a rival to Microsoft, it is very good.
The pop-up blocker works very well and theres an inbuilt virus checker.
If you want more than one page open, you open them in another tab WITHIN Firefox rather than running another IE at the same time.
This frees more memory for speed.

It's free to download and use and I heartily recommend it!

cyber web Explorer is an fairly stable cyber web browser. reckoning on the version, it could have its reward and downsides. the latest version, (IE 7.0) is stable yet nonetheless includes bugs that would reason it to freeze or crash. Firefox is a extra clever determination yet suffers from incompatibility matters with particular issues like economic business enterprise account logins. while you're only surfing the cyber web, Firefox is the suited. to no longer point out, Firefox additionally has an IE plugin so as that web content that are basically nicely suited with IE can use Firefox rather. inspite of the incontrovertible fact that, it remains no longer one hundred% nicely suited with issues coping with business enterprise transactions. as against IE7 the place it is extra possibly to be nicely suited with business enterprise transactions. i come across that for customary surfing, I actual tend to apply Firefox. yet for business enterprise transactions, I actual tend to bypass with IE7.

I would recommend using Mozilla Firefox - it's smaller, uses less processing power and will speed up your browsing, alternatively use Opera (also free). IE is really poor and not secure.
