Why do people assume when you post pregnancy questions that you are some middle school hoochie who accidentally got "knocked up"? Do people not realize that some pregnant women are mature adults who WANT to have a baby, not kids wh had unprotected sex and should be slapped on the hand?

Most questions about "could I be pregnant?" or "what are some signs of pregnancy?", including the ones that have no indication of youth or ignorace, have at least one answer that says something along the lines of, "You should have kept your legs closed, skank." Having a baby is not necessarily the accidental result of sleeping around.

If someone doesn't realize that some people actually TRY to be pregnant because they are MARRIED and starting a FAMILY, but that pregnancy can be a very exciting and confusing time for a woman (or her partner) and they may have questions or worries, then that person has no business answering questions about pregnancy. Anyone else notice this and agree with me?

Oh, I completely agree...some people do ask stupid questions, and if you want to know if you're pregnant, buy a test. But even legitimate questions seem to get completely sarcastic and rude answers on this board.

Absolutely, 100%! You are SO right. I've had some crazy answers when I've come to this board confused about an issue or concerned about something related to pregnancy. I agree with you, if you don't have anything constructive to add, why add it in the first place!

Asking "What are some signs of pregnancy?" _does_ indicate "youth or ignorance."

It's not that I'm expecting people to magically know even if it's their first -- it's just that (1) it's been asked so many times that it'll come up as an answered question when you're typing it in; you could find out with one click, and (2) what's wrong with Google? The net is jammed with that sort of information.

Basic questions like that that just don't make much sense here; you can get a much better answer off a web site in seconds.

I'm _not_ criticizing "I heard about X sign, and this has happened which is different from what they describe; is it still the same thing?" and others that aren't so easily answered. But, just "What are some signs?" Or "My breasts are tender and I'm tired -- could I be pregnant?" Those don't say "I have had enough education to start a family."

All that said, there isn't any excuse for the "shoulda kept your legs closed" vulgarity, no.

Well i guess the issue is that this is an area for people to come on and get information from the masses. If someone has a question about a car deal, well, they can't always trust the car salesman so they log on and ask the people. Or in this case it's pregnancy. Sometimes people don't always wanna hear it from a male doctor who has never and will never have a baby. They wanna hear it from someone who has experience. The problem comes in when the more ignorant and moronic part of the people gets on here and decides that some of these questions are just jokes for them to play with rather than seeing them as important questions that the asker really needs help with. I say oh well...because those are the same people that are gonna piss and moan when it comes time to ask a serious question and all they get are dumb responses...what goes around comes around! I hate to be like that, but some people just won't get my sympathy.

Oh yes lol, I had this happen to me. When I thought I was pregnant I asked on her about normal pregnancy signs and what not and got some really nasty answers. One of which told me I was basically a terrible person and that I shouldn't be having a child because I was stupid. I of course reported this person for being so rude. I have no idea why they would say anything like that. My question was just a simple am I pregnant...what are some of the first signs of it? I mean come on, I'm a married woman and since this was my first pregnancy of course I had questions. It's a confusing time and for a first time mom you don't know everything about pregnancy.

I ignore the "Sm I pregnant" questions anymore. Because they ARE generally teenagers who refuse to go out and buy a test or even just go to the doctor. What is the point of asking this question on here? ALL early pregnancy symptoms are similar to what goes on just before you get your period. How are we on yahoo answers supposed to know? How much brain power does it take to figure out that if you think you are pregnant you need to get a test? People on yahoo answer can really only give oppinions on whether they think someone is pregnant or not, and I'm sorry but ANY mature adult who is ready to have children would know that, yes, if you had ANY kind of vaginal sex protected or not you, you COULD be pregnant. I love answering questions on this section, but that question is not one anyone but a urine test or a doctor can answer.

Maybe the married and or more mature women can phrase the question(s) differently. Yes, I keep asking my husband if I "could be pregnant", because I want to be pregnant so badly, but I know I am not right now. (Maybe this is okay, though, as I've only been off of bc for a month.) Anyway, maybe try to state the head question/subject differently. . . that's my two cents.

I do agree with you... but at the same rate you have to understand... that a LOT of those "could I be pregnant" questions are posted by young girls.. and people ask that same question all day.. it is just STUPID! If you had sex, then there is a chance that you are pregnant.. THE END.. no one on yahoo answers can tell you if you are pregnant or not..
So I think when a girl posts a question that is so riduculous, it gives people the impression that she is young and dumb.

Some people on here just like to stir the pot. They enjoy belittling people for some reason or another. I also wonder why people give information without checking any facts? I get that this is a public forum and you take your answers with a grain of salt, but still. It just annoys the heck out of me when I see answers that are so far off base.

I love how quick people are to judge on here. Lots of first stones being cast, I find.
