1) Night of the scorpion by Nissim Ezekiel - It was taught to us
in school. I just love this poem . The mother of the poet was stung by a Scorpio & the villagers tried their best to relieve her of her pain & when at last she recovered she thanked God that her children were safe.
2)The frog and the nightingale - Haven't read it .
3)The Rime of the ancient mariner - Haven't read it.
4) Ode to the west wind by P.B.Shelley - Now I am doing graduation & this poem was taught to us this year & i am
preparing for it for my coming exams - personally i don't like
this poem much.... great work of art i know but its too long.
5) The Solitary reaper - This one is also taught to us. I like this
one.
6) Home they brought her warrior dead - I don't remmember
exactly ......whether it was taught to us at school or not !!
Anyways keep going !! Great question friend !! :-)

I haven't read "Frog/Nightingale". I love all of the other poems. They are all somewhat serious, dealing mostly with death, sickness, and loneliness, and all have a message that goes something like this: Death is preferable to loneliness but there is much beauty in the world that you see only when you contemplate death because of your loneliness." Of course, I am over-simplifying. Nobody can really summarize 7 of the world's best poems in one sentence. But you aren't looking for a thesis (at least not on this forum). Hope this helps (if only a little bit).

ode to the wes wind in by far my favorite my favorite lines are
A heavy weight of hours has chain'd and bow'd
One too like thee—tameless, and swift, and proud.
its a stirring breathtaking poem that leads you through the seasons of life
i had to read "the rime of the ancient mariner"
it was confusing it made me think about 1st impressions and how those impressions change.
i remember the stanza
Water, water, everywhere,
And all the boards did shrink;
Water, water, everywhere,
Nor any drop to drink.
to me it symbolized the difference between what we see and what is really there
i've never read the others

I've read only the last two and they were superb!.Wordsworth has really brought it out in "The solitary Reaper". It was like I was listening to the snog myself.
