(I know I'm such a noob)
I selected the images copied and pasted them from the folder on my computer opened to the cd folder. they are on the cd now but they are whited out and seperated from the files already on the cd
files ready to be written to cd/files currently on the cd.

so how do I write them on the cd do I just click something?

Yep... from the menu
File > Write these files to CD

on that folder chk through ur left hand side in the folder options u would have an option to burn them onto a cd choose that option and now u r ready to burn follow on the on screen writing wizard and u r done.
or else use a cd writer software if u fell comfortable download nero or nti cd maker and use them they will guide u in simple steps

Well it will be a data cd when it burns. Windows will automatically recognize and do this.

On the left bar you may have a "Write these files to CD" or go to File and click it.

Just click next next next and then next and your done.
