There are a few that make that claim but there are other factors in burning Cd's fast. There is the overall speed of your computer, the settings on your burning software ( volume leveling, delay between songs, how fast software interprets and responds to data ) and sometimes burning Cd's fast does not make the best quality CD.I'll list some sites in source to give you some information to help you.

Depends on the speed of your CD Writer... Windows media player isnt slower than any other program....

You can only write files as fast as your drive allows...

You can also go into your Media Player OPTIONS and see what the WRITE SPEED is set to... All burn programs allow you to change the WRITE SPEED if applicable...

Put the write speed on max.

it might no longer have something to do with the media participant in any respect. A CD can basically burn as quickly using fact the CD burner can bypass. i think of that your subject is extra possibly to be relating to the participant - 2x burn speed vs. 16x vs. 32x burn speed (no longer study speed). Nero is especially plenty the time-honored whilst it comprises burning application yet, for the main section, the speeds seem to especially constantly tied to the burn speed on all of them.

Most CD burners can create CDs at multiple speeds, the fastest speed that is available now is 32x. At 1x speed, the CD spins at about the same rate as it does when the player is reading it. This means it would take you about 60 minutes to record 60 minutes of music. But if it is recording at 32x speed, it would take 32 times less the time to record the same 60 minutes of music, which should be about 2-3 minutes.

Overview

When you create a custom CD, you are transferring media files from your computer to an optical disc (CD-R or CD-RW). You can transfer files that you have downloaded from the Internet or saved to My Library, but you cannot transfer media that is streamed to your computer. You can create either a standard audio CD or an MP3 CD (audio files only) or a data CD containing any of the files listed in My Library. Browse through the clips in My Library to find the files you want to transfer, select a CD type, and then burn the files to a CD.

Note: Audio and MP3 CDs that are burned onto CD-RW discs cannot always be read by standard CD players or CD-ROM drives.
Open the CD Burner

You can open the CD Burner from any of the following locations:

· From the Player menus, select Tools > CD > CD Burner.

· In the Tasks area of the My Library Sidebar, Select CD Burner > View...

· From the Current Burner/Device menu at the top of the Burn/Transfer page, Select CD Burner.
Select CD Type

You can choose to create one of the following CD types:
