you either need to fumigate to drive them out, Once attic is fumigated then you can block the access holes.

Or you can net the eaves of the structure, Or seal all holes except their main entrance hole and install a bat box.

I have found best results with the fumigation process.End result is you need to have a pest management professional access your situation.

As previously stated bat Guano is highly toxic to the respiratory system. 9 out of ten are said to carry rabies.

It is illegal to kill bats in the United States. They are all protected species.

You can try home remedies such as placing moth balls throughout your attic which has the same active ingredients as Bat Scat and leaving lights on but I think fumigation is in order.

Licensed exterminator

Alex, I just saw a show over the weekend about gardening and how to build a bat house. Perhaps, making them a house outside in the yard or alley or whatever will make them stay out of your room. Other than that, I would say, an exterminator would be able to get rid of them. Oh, the show was Gardening By The Yard (Paul James is the host) and it's on HGTV. They must have something on their website. HTH.

Bats can squeeze into the tiniest of holes. The best bet is to call someone that deals with pest control. NOT an exterminator, they deal with bugs. Call one that deals with small animals. They can usually be found under pest control in the yellow pages. There are several species of bats that are protected by law, so killing them is illegal.

Also, you need to go outside just before dusk, and watch, selecting a different side of your house each night, until you find each place they are coming in, then close those spots off, so that more do not come in.

If you go and turn a light on in the room they are in, and leave it on, they will go away on their own, in a few days. But if they have access to the inner area of your walls, they could go in there.

Because bat excrement is a health hazard you should call some one from the National Wildlife Trapper Association. There is an office in every state. They can let you know how best to deal with your bats. Not all bats respond to the same kind of exterminating. Check out this link and find your state. These people know how to safely and effectively remove wildlife.

Some animals hate the smell of Amonia. I'm not sure about bats, but you could try leaving bowls in and around the room, with amonia in them and see if that works.

If it does, you need to patch all the holes on the exterior of your house, and interior as well.

I'd really just get an exterminator, then patch the holes in and around my house though if I were you.

You have to find where they are getting in- probably a hole in the roof or in the eaves of the house. Bats fly out at night - so you need to wait until they leave and then patch the hole so you won't enclose them in the house

I'd call an exterminator or animal control. Bat dung is very bad for humans. You need to take care of this asap before you get sick!
