No, they're not. Try playing stuff by Irish bands like U2 (even though I hate them), or The Pogues. The pogues more rambunctious numbers go down well. Then there's The Dropkick Murphys. From Boston, they play a lot of older Irish songs in a more punk style. Guaranteed to get the crowd on their feet.

No, chumpawuba are not Irish, (at least if its the same group I'm thinking off).
what type of music do you want, traditional or rock?
The undertones, snow patrol,ash, U2, the trills, the corrs, damien rice, christy moore, the cranberrys, thin lizzy,rory gallagher, westlife and boyzone are just a few irish bands and singers I can think off at the moment. They'd get me dancing, well, most of them anyway
