You can not make nations love each other. It is like a parent who makes their child apologize, when the child is not sorry. You teach your child that they should be sorry, but you can't make them feel it. Neither can you change the attitudes and actions of others. I agree with what you are saying......I just don't see it happening.

Actually, the differences are more idealogical. They are in the things we believe, the form of government used and such.

We can't make the world's nations love each other until we realize that we simply don't have the right to impose one set of beliefs on another country.

The United States might be less hated if we didn't extend our military might throughout the entire world, acting as some world-wide arbiter of what is right and wrong.

We have military bases in Cuba, Panama, Italy, Iceland, Korea, Japan, Germany, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Bosnia and elsewhere. We have ships all over the Earth, and satellites spying on every country on the planet.

We have toppled countries in the name of what we see as right, claiming it is our right to destroy what sorts of government we disagree with. Perhaps if we minded our own business until asked for help, we might be more at peace.

Put all the government leaders, religious leaders, activists and similar people together in a large room and permanently lock the door.

Without all those people to tell us why we should not get along, we just might.

I think many Americans worry too much about other countries liking us. We can't make everyone like us, but we can make them fear us more than they hate us!
