The doctor will give you specific instructions about how long to wait before engaging in sexual activity. I have heard that the standard is 2 weeks.

I am going to try to be as loving here as I can- to even consider having sex 2-3 weeks after an abortion is something that I can not understand- What is wrong with this picture? You chose not to carry your child to term- then you want to go back and have sex- and then possibly use abortion as a birth control method again. Please consider abstaining- that is the only sure way you will not get pregnant. Please look deep within your heart and try to see that abortion is wrong for all reasons- but be responsible so it will not have to happen again- because if 2-3 weeks ago you were not ready for a child you will not be today either-

ummm. isn't that the reason you had to have the abortion in the first place? I think you shouldn't do anything. Go be put on birth control or something. I realize that some people have abortions for difficult reasons but you just sound like a irresponsible person who cant live up to what they've done wrong and take care of it themselves. That baby didn't ask to be brought into the world, it was your fault and then you have to commit a murder and kill it because you aren't "ready" for a kid. Well, maybe you aren't ready to do the things that causes kids, if you can't except the consequences.

Wow, so 2 weeks is the standard for having premarital sex after murdering your child. They are both wrong in every way. If you have already had an abortion you should seek counseling and really think about what you did...it was a human life. And if you have not yet had the abortion please reconsider doing it. Nothing but evil comes from this and you will feel the emotional pain for the rest of you life. That is a beautiful child that never did or never will have a chance. As for the boyfriend...keep it in your pants.
Please think about what you are doing.

Education should come before sex.. but unfortunately in many circumstances it's the other way around. Be responsible, educate and respect yourself... and sex and abortion won't be the biggest issue in your life. Care about yourself and use protection. Not only can you get pregnant again, you could catch a disease that will follow you around for the rest of your life.

Abortion is wrong, and you are wrong for getting one. If the person you are with is not someone you could see having a baby with, then don't have sex with that person (in case you didn't know, theres only one way to get pregnant...and condoms break and birth control is only 85% affective) The best thing you could do is learn from your stupid decision and keep your legs closed.

I really hope for your sake that the abortion was do to safe sex that failed?!?!
If it was, then just consult your physician...if it wasn't, then it's just dumb to have sex until your mature enough to do so without compromising your own health.

They will give you a time at the clinic when it is safe to have sex again. If they don't just ask. Your body will return to normal fairly quickly, depending on how far along you are.

One might hope that you at least practiced birth
control.

No, having an abortion doesn't mean that you
should never have sex again. Just learn from
your mistakes.
