I am about to set up a temporary website using 'SiteBuilder' while I create my actual site using better software.

You absolutely can. if the site is established and index in search engines already, and you wind up using new technology like php or something else, you may want to change your .htaccess file to point to your users to your new pages from the old ones.

something like this will work if you host is using apache:

Redirect 301 /old.html http://www.yoursite.com/new.php

Yes. If you're using some sort of syncing software, make sure your old page is compeletely erased so you don't waste web space.

I had designed a web site first with "Frontpage," the I switched to "Macromedia." So yes you can. You just have to upload all the new pages.
